Hank Shreve

The Northwest Harmonica Champion

Bio

Hank Shreve began his passion for music at the age of 8. Parents Bill and Laurie Shreve were both hard-working talented musicians. One of their bands, Bill Will, was formed by them and great friend, Willie Webber who unfortunately passed away in 2004. In 1996, they added another great friend, Dino Allbaugh, who was a childhood buddy of Bill. Little did Dino know, that he would serve as a huge influence on young Hank Shreve. One night, he left his harmonicas at the Shreve's house, and 8 year old Hank Shreve picked one up as if it were calling to him. Immediately, Hank was attracted to the harmonica, and began playing everyday, and non-stop listened to players like Paul Butterfield, Norton Buffalo and William Clarke to name a few.

Over the next few years, Hank proceeded to pick up other instruments such as drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals. Still a very young man, Hank has already played with and/or opened up for such greats as: Merle Haggard, Honeyboy Edwards, Norton Buffalo, Mark Pender (of Late Night w/Conan O'Brien), Sista Monica, Norma Fraser, Marcia Ball, Johnny Dyer, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, The Fabulous Thunderbirds Cherry Poppin' Daddies, North Mississippi Allstars, Paul deLay, Curtis Salgado, Bill Rhoades, WC Clark, and so many more!

Apart from being a working performer, teacher and student, Hank is a mulit-award winning musician. He has achieved: The rank of Eagle Scout, 1st place winner of the Northwest Harmonica Championship, the Mike Wiggins Memorial Scholarship, 2 time winner of the Arion Award (the highest musical achievement award in high school), voted most valuable and most inspirational player of the Solar Jazz band ( 2 years in a row), and is currently serving as the drummer for the Lane Community College Jazz Ensemble.

To this day, I owe all of my credit and love to Willie Webber, Dino Allbaugh, Jim Douglas, Ray Becerra, Paul deLay, Norton Buffalo, William Clarke, Jonathan Light, Ron Bertucci, and Bill & Laurie Shreve. Without these most wonderful people, I wouldn't be the musician or person that I am today. Thanks so much for all of your help and support! Peace, love and music forever.
